By using garbage to finance health, the Garbage Clinical Insurance in Malang, East Java, provides since 2010 healthcare to the poor who fall outside the national health insurance scheme. While sanitation and environment benefit, people’s perception of household waste also changes. In this documentary short, we get a glimpse of how this innovative idea works and may inspire to think about alternative economies beyond capitalism.
